Award details

The Property & Construction Project of the Year Award celebrates the completion of an outstanding construction project within Hertfordshire. Woodhouse entered a recent workspace project they completed for Hollywood Bowl Group; a new people-orientated workspace in their 9,000ft2 support centre that was catering for their growing team.

The new space truly reflects the culture of the Hollywood Bowl Group vision by creating a welcoming environment that brings people together, with a mix of space typologies, is environmentally considerate and promotes wellness.

The Small to Medium Business of the Year Award celebrates the Hertfordshire company that can demonstrate high levels of growth and a robust plan for sustainable financial performance. The judges highlighted Woodhouse Workspace’s strong growth story and initiatives demonstrating a holistic approach, including upskilling of staff and a new 'Workplace Dynamics' concept: workshops that seeks to help organisations develop their hybrid working strategy, through bringing people together to craft culture-rich work practices for the future.

Chamber CEO Donna Schultz said: “This is a really impressive family-owned business with a half-century of pedigree. It has been growing consistently since 1976, apart from a dip during the pandemic, with a customer list that is a who’s who of Hertfordshire Chamber members and brands. Woodhouse's strong commitment to ethical supply chains and environmental concerns also impressed our judging panel, along with its firm focus on clients and landlords. This is clearly a company that understands its market and serves it well, while being as energy efficient as it possibly can be."

The new workspace has had a really positive effect – it is a much nicer workspace. More people are working in Hemel, and we no longer need to mandate in-office attendance.
